Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis

David Angelich, Psy. D.

People often come to therapy knowing quite a lot about themselves. They may understand where a problem comes from, recognize a pattern while it is happening, and still find themselves caught in it.

We can repeat the same kinds of relationships, become anxious in situations we know are safe, feel unable to make changes we genuinely want, or find ourselves reacting in ways that don't quite make sense to us. Sometimes there is no obvious problem at all, but a persistent feeling of being stuck, dissatisfied, or disconnected from something important.

I work with people who want to understand these experiences more deeply. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or immediate solutions, we become curious about the patterns that shape your emotional life, relationships, and sense of yourself. Over time, what has felt confusing or automatic can become more understandable and more open to change.

My practice includes psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, as well as psychological and forensic assessment.

I maintain a private practice in Bethesda, Maryland, and provide telehealth services in PSYPACT-participating states.
